No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill relates to human body and anatomical specimen donation. It requires the Anatomical Board of the States of Texas (Board) to develop a document to inform a person making a gift of a decedent’s body or anatomical specimen for purposes of education or research of the risks and benefits associated with donation. It also requires the Board to make the document available on the board's Internet website. The Board shall adopt rules to ensure that each person who has control or possession of a body or anatomical specimen completes the chain-of-custody form and maintains the copy of the form for the person’s record.

Most of The University of Texas Institutions current have similar processes in place. 

The bill takes effect September 1, 2011.
