FROM:

IN RE:
SB264 by Zaffirini (Relating to certain information provided by local workforce development boards regarding certain child-care providers.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Chapter 2308, Government Code, relating to the Workforce Investment Act, by adding Section 2308.3171. The bill would require each local workforce development board to provide information on quality child-care indicators for each child-care provider in the area served by the board if the board provides board-funded child-care services or the provider receives reimbursement for child-care services from the board. The Act would take effect September 1, 2011, and each local workforce development board shall implement the bill by January 1, 2012.

The Texas Workforce Commission and the Department of Family and Protective Services indicate they could implement the provisions of the bill within existing resources.
