No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Chapter 152, Texas Code, and impose additional requirements on the transfer of a motor vehicle as a gift. The bill would require either the person gifting the motor vehicle or the recipient of the gift to file the joint statement required in current law for the transfer and to provide identification. The bill would describe acceptable identification for this purpose, and would prohibit the filing of a joint statement by a motor vehicle title service.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
