LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 21, 2011

TO:
Honorable John Whitmire, Chair, Senate Committee on Criminal Justice

FROM:
John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB364 by Ogden (Relating to statistical information on the prosecution of certain offenses relating to the operating of a motor vehicle while intoxicated.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would add Government Code, Section 411.049 which would require the Department of Public Safety (DPS) to compile, maintain, and report statistical information on the prosecution of certain offenses relating to the operation of a motor vehicle while intoxicated. The bill would take effect on September 1, 2009. This analysis assumes DPS could implement the provisions of the bill within existing appropriations.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
