No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would prohibit the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ from authorizing Class I or Class III injection wells that transect or terminate in the Edwards Aquifer. Some beneficial forms of injection wells, including those used for aquifer storage, those used to recover ground and surface water, and those used to clean up groundwater contamination could still be authorized.
Passage of the bill is not expected to result in significant fiscal implications to the TCEQ.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
