IN RE:
SB499 by Jackson (Relating to the identification of breeder deer by microchips.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend portions of the Parks and Wildlife Code regarding the identification of breeder deer.  The bill would expand the definition of durable identification tags to include external tags, microchip implants or other identification tags approved by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD). Instead of using a tattoo, a deer breeder may use any approved identification to tag the breeder deer no later than March 31 of the year following the year in which a breeder deer is born.  To the extent the bill would amend provisions relating to identifying breeder deer, no significant fiscal implication to TPWD or the state is anticipated.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2011.
