No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Chapter 401 of the Occupations Code relating to the minimum educational requirement for audiologist licensure. Audiologists who renew a license that was issued before the effective date of the bill would be exempt from the new requirements. The bill would take effect September 1, 2011.

The Department of State Health Services indicates that implementation of the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing staff and resources.
