SB781 by Carona (Relating to the repeal of certain legislative oversight committees.), As Passed 2nd House

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would repeal section 39.907 and Subchapter F of Chapter 65 of the Utilities Code, which establish the electric utility restructuring legislative oversight committee and the telecommunications competitiveness legislative oversight committee.
 
The bill would repeal Chapter 1801 of the Insurance Code, which establishes a property and casualty insurance legislative oversight committee.

The bill would repeal Government Code, Section 2059.060 related to DIR adoption rules for vulnerability testing of network hardware and software.  

Based on the analysis of the Public Utility Commission, the Office of Public Utility Counsel, the Texas Department of Insurance, and the Department of Information Resources, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
