LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 19, 2011

TO:
Honorable Rob Eissler, Chair, House Committee on Public Education

FROM:
John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB1094 by Rodriguez (Relating to the availability of online testing for high school equivalency examinations.), Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The Texas Education Agency indicates that the provisions of the bill would not be anticipated to have significant fiscal implications for the operations of the Agency.  Accordingly, it is assumed that all activities required to develop and deliver high school equivalency examinations and to administer such online, including the verification of identity and age, could be accomplished within existing Agency resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
