SB1175 by Jackson (Relating to the prior approval of an award of money from the Texas Enterprise Fund and the Texas emerging technology fund.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code and provide that grants and awards from the Texas Enterprise Fund and the Emerging Technology Fund are considered approved by the Lieutenant Governor or the Speaker of the House if those officers do not disapprove the proposal to award funds before the 91st day after the date of receipt of the proposal from the Governor. The Lieutenant Governor or the Speaker of the House may extend the review deadline for an additional 14 days by submitting a written notice to the Governor before the expiration of the initial review period. It is anticipated that any additional costs associated with implementation of the legislation could be absorbed within existing resources.
