No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Occupations Code to exempt a licensed social worker, who is engaged in the practice of social work, from regulation under the Private Security Act. The Department of Public Safety and the Department of State Health Services anticipate no significant fiscal impact from the provisions of the bill. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a two-thirds vote of the members of each house. Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2011.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
