The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code regarding certain information submitted to the Department of Public Safety (DPS) by practitioners who dispense certain controlled substances. The bill would also permit DPS to permit investigators from the Texas Board of Nursing access to certain information submitted to DPS. The bill would take effect September 1, 2011. No significant fiscal impact to the state is anticipated.
