TO:

IN RE:
SB1354 by Carona (Relating to the regulation of off-premise signs in the unincorporated area of a county.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Local Government Code to authorize a commissioners court of a county to prohibit off-premise signs along roads in the unincorporated area of a county, but could not require the removal of existing signs before the effective date of the bill. Prior to the issuance of an order, the commissioners court would be required to hold a public hearing and publish a notice of the hearing in a newspaper.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
