SB1529 by Hinojosa (Relating to the date by which law enforcement agencies must report arrests to the Department of Public Safety.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to require an offender’s arrest be reported to the Department of Public Safety not later than the second day after the date of the arrest. Under current statute, the requirement is not later than the seventh day.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
