FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 10, 2011

TO:
Honorable Florence Shapiro, Chair, Senate Committee on Education

FROM:

IN RE:
SB1619 by Duncan (Relating to the calculation of average daily attendance for a public school student participating in the college credit program.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would continue in effect a provision stating that a school district is not required to pay a student's tuition or other associated costs for taking a dual credit course.  The bill would also reenact and clarify a provision that currently authorizes a student's attendance in a dual credit course to be counted for the purpose of determining average daily attendance under the Foundation School Program.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.  The bill would continue current practice with regard to dual credit course enrollments.
