TO: | Honorable Jeff Wentworth, Chair, Senate Committee on Open Government, Select |
FROM: | John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board |
IN RE: | SB1638 by Davis (Relating to the exception of certain personal information from required disclosure under the public information law.), As Introduced |
The bill would amend the Public Information Act (PIA) to generally except from disclosure: (1) a current or former employee's emergency contact information; (2) motor vehicle record or personal identification information from another state or country; and (3) a copy of an identification badge issued to an official employee of a governmental entity.
This analysis assumes that any costs associated with implementing the bill's provisions could be met with existing resources.
The bill would take immediate effect upon receiving two-thirds votes of all members in each house; otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2011.
