No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to permit the Public Safety Commission of the Department of Public Safety (DPS) to call special rangers and special Texas Rangers into service under certain criteria. The bill would take effect September 1, 2011. DPS anticipates no fiscal impact from the provisions of the bill.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
