IN RE: | SB1737 by Van de Putte (Relating to the use and accrual of leaves of absence for military training or duty for officers and employees of the state), As Introduced |
The bill also specifies a state employee called to active duty is entitled to receive paid leave for not more than 22 workdays without loss of military leave.
The Adjutant General’s Office estimates that 60 state employees could qualify for the additional benefit established in the bill. Emergency leave time is not paid, it is either used or it is lapsed. There could be some impact to agencies' work output, however, it is assumed that essential services would not be affected.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2011.
