LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

ACTUARIAL IMPACT STATEMENT

82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 18, 2011

TO:
Honorable Vicki Truitt, Chair, House Committee on Pensions, Investments & Financial Services

FROM:
John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1606 by Guillen (Relating to the designation of a qualified transportation benefit as a supplemental optional benefits program for state employees by the Employees Retirement System of Texas.), As Introduced

HB 1606 would amend Section 659.102 of the Government Code by requiring Employee Retirement System of Texas (ERS) to offer a qualified transportation benefit as a supplemental optional benefit program for state employees.

The proposed bill, if enacted, would not have an actuarial impact on the retirement funds administered by ERS because it does not propose to change the funding or obligations of a public retirement system.
