Pursuant to a notice posted on June 1, 2011,  revised on June 3, 2011, and permission granted to meet while the House is in session on June 2, 2011, the House Committee on Appropriations met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Pitts, at 9:32 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Pitts; Aycock; Button; Chisum; Crownover; Darby; Eiland; Gooden; Hochberg; Johnson; King, Susan; Margo; McClendon; Morrison; Otto; Patrick, Diane; Schwertner; Shelton; Torres; and Zerwas.

 

A quorum was present.


 

SB 1

 

The chair laid out SB 1.

 

The chair offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

The committee heard from a resource witness from the Legislative Budget Board.

 

Representative Aycock moved that SB 1, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
