Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 18, 2011, and permission being granted on May 18, 2011 to meet while the House is in session to consider SB 1649, the House Committee on Border & Intergovernmental Affairs met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Gonzales, Veronica, at 2:16 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Gonzales, Veronica; Weber; Alonzo; Farrar; Gonzales, Larry; and Riddle.

 

A quorum was present.

The chair laid out SB 1649.

 

The chair recognized Representative Margo to explain SB 1649.

 

The chair recognized Representative Margo to close on SB 1649.

 

Representative Weber moved that SB 1649, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Gonzales, Veronica; Weber; Alonzo; Farrar; Gonzales, Larry; Riddle (6).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Hardcastle; Phillips; Simpson (3).

 

At 2:22 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
