Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on
May 11, 2011, and receiving permission on May 11, 2011 to meet while the house
is in session, the House Committee on Business & Industry met in a formal
meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Deshotel, at 2:43
p.m.
The initial quorum call was answered as follows:
Representatives Deshotel; Orr; Giddings; Quintanilla; Solomons; and Workman.
A quorum was present.

The chair laid out SB 142.
Representative Workman offered a complete committee
substitute.
The committee substitute was adopted without
objection.
Representative Workman moved that SB 142, as
substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The
motion prevailed by the following record vote:
