Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on April 26, 2011, and permission granted to meet while the House is in session on April 26, 2011, the House Committee on Corrections met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Madden, at 2:09 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representative Madden; Cain; Perry; White; and Workman.

 

A quorum was present.


SB 653

 

The chair laid out SB 653.

 

The chair offered and explained a complete committee substitute.

 

(Representative Parker now present.)

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative White moved that SB 653, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Madden; Cain; Parker; Perry; White; Workman (6).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Allen; Hunter; Marquez (3).

 

HCR 42

 

The chair laid out HCR 42 as pending business.

 

Representative Perry moved that HCR 42, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Madden; Cain; Parker; Perry; White; Workman (6).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Allen; Hunter; Marquez (3).

HB 2649

 

The chair laid out HB 2649 as pending business.

 

Representative Allen offered and explained a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Workman moved that HB 2649, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

Nays:                           None (0).
