Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 6, 2011, the House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence met in a formal meeting while the house was in session and was called to order by the chair, Representative Gallego, at 12:39 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Gallego; Aliseda; Burkett; Carter; Christian; and Davis, Yvonne.

 

A quorum was present.


 

Representative  Burkett moved that the April 29, 2011 minutes for the House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence be corrected. The corrected minutes were authorized without objection.

 

HB 3423

 

The chair laid out HB 3423 as pending business.

 

Representative Davis, Yvonne moved that HB 3423, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Gallego; Aliseda; Burkett; Carter; Christian; Davis, Yvonne (6).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Hartnett; Rodriguez, Eddie; Zedler (3).

The chair moved to reconsider the vote by which HB 3423 was taken.  The motion to reconsider prevailed without objection.

 

Representative Davis, Yvonne moved that HB 3423, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Gallego; Aliseda; Burkett; Carter; Christian; Davis, Yvonne; Rodriguez, Eddie (7).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Hartnett; Zedler (2).

 

At 12:43 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
