Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on
May 18, 2011, the House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence asked for
permission to meet in a formal meeting while the house was in session. The
House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence was granted permission to meet in a
formal meeting while the house was in session on that day, May 18, 2011, to
consider pending business and was called to order by the chair, Representative
Gallego, at 4:05 p.m.
The initial quorum call was answered as follows:

Representative Aliseda moved that SB 1521,
without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the
recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on
Local and Consent Calendars. The motion
