Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor and
with permission granted to meet while the House is in sesssion on April 29,
2011, the House Committee on Elections met in a formal meeting and was called
to order by the chair, Representative Taylor, Larry, at 1:39 p.m.
The initial quorum call was answered as follows:
Representatives Taylor, Larry; Berman; Branch; Burkett; Farias; Isaac; King,
Phil; and Veasey.
A quorum was present.

The chair laid out HB 2487 as pending business.
Representative Burkett offered a complete committee
substitute.
The amendment was adopted without objection.
Representative Burkett moved that HB 2487, as
substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The
