Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor and
with permission granted to meet while the House is in session on May 3, 2011,
the House Committee on Elections met in a formal meeting and was called to
order by the chair, Representative Taylor, Larry, at 3:07 p.m.
The initial quorum call was answered as follows:
Representatives Taylor, Larry; Hernandez Luna; Berman; Branch; Burkett; Farias;
Isaac; King, Phil; and Veasey.

Representative Burkett moved that HB 1696,
without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the
recommendation that it do pass and be printed.
