Pursuant to a suspension of the 5-day posting rule
on May 16, 2011, the House Committee on Defense & Veterans' Affairs met in
a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Pickett,
at 9:00 a.m.
The initial quorum call was answered as follows:
Representatives Pickett; Sheffield; Berman; Flynn; Landtroop; Perry; and Scott.
A quorum was present.
The chair directed that the May 5, 2011 and May 6,
2011 minutes, for the House Committee on Defense & Veterans' Affairs be
corrected. The corrected minutes were authorized without objection.

The chair recognized Representative Flynn to explain
SB 1737.
The chair recognized Representative Flynn to close
on SB 1737.
Representative Sheffield moved that SB 1737,
without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the
recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on
Local and Consent Calendars. The motion
prevailed by the following record vote:
