Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on
May 20, 2011, and permission to meet while the House is in session on May 20,
2011, the House Committee on Insurance met in a formal meeting and was called
to order by the chair, Representative Smithee, at 6:18 p.m.
The initial quorum call was answered as follows:
Representatives Smithee; Eiland; Hancock; Nash; Sheets; Taylor, Larry; and
Torres.
A quorum was present.
SB 1300
The chair laid out SB 1300 as pending business.
The chair recognized Representative Eiland to
explain SB 1300.
(Representative Walle now present.)
SB 1300 was left pending without objection.
SB 1656
The chair laid out SB 1656 as pending business.
Representative Walle offered a complete committee
substitute.
The committee substitute was adopted without
objection.
Representative Walle moved that SB 1656, as
substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The
motion prevailed by the following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives
Smithee; Eiland; Hancock; Sheets; Taylor, Larry; Walle (6).
Nays: Representatives Nash;
Torres (2).

Absent: Representative Vo (1).
SB 1300
The chair laid out SB 1300 as pending business.
Representative Walle moved that SB 1300,
without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the
recommendation that it do pass and be printed.
The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
