Pursuant to a notice posted on February 17, 2011, the House Committee on Public Health met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Kolkhorst, at 8:05 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Kolkhorst; Naishtat; Alvarado; Coleman; Davis, Sarah; Gonzales, Veronica; King, Susan; Schwertner; and Truitt.

 

A quorum was present.

The committee met to hear testimony relating to an overview of public health issues in Texas.

At 9:59 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was recessed until upon final adjourn./recess.

 

The committee reconvened at 1:06 p.m. and was called to order by the chair, Representative Naishtat.

 

The quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Naishtat; Alvarado; Davis, Sarah; Gonzales, Veronica; King, Susan; Schwertner; and Zerwas.

 

A quorum was present.

The committee continued to hear invited testimony relating to an overview of public health issues in Texas.
