Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 9, 2011, the House Committee on Public Health met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Kolkhorst, at 1:45 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Kolkhorst; Naishtat; Alvarado; Davis, Sarah; Gonzales, Veronica; King, Susan; Laubenberg; Schwertner; and Truitt.

 

A quorum was present.


 

The chair directed that the April 20, 2011, April 26, 2011, and May 3, 2011 minutes for the House Committee on Public Health be corrected. The corrected minutes were authorized without objection.

 

HB 3537

 

The chair laid out HB 3537 as pending business.

 

Representative Schwertner moved that HB 3537, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Kolkhorst; Davis, Sarah; King, Susan; Laubenberg; Schwertner; Truitt (6).

 

Nays:                           Representatives Naishtat; Alvarado; Gonzales, Veronica (3).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Coleman; Zerwas (2).

 

 

HB 392

 

The chair laid out HB 392 as pending business.

 

Representative Schwertner moved that HB 392, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

Nays:                           None (0).
