Pursuant to a notice posted on January 4, 2012, the House Committee on Public Health met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Kolkhorst, at 11:07 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Kolkhorst; Naishtat; Coleman; Davis, Sarah; King, Susan; Laubenberg; Schwertner; and Truitt.

 

A quorum was present.

 

 

 

Representative Howard, Donna also attended.

Interim Charge #5 related to committee oversight. The following topics were discussed: legislative implementation, the Health Transformation 1115 Waiver, Medicaid orthodontics, and patient safety at state hospitals.
