Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 20, 2011, the House Committee on Homeland Security & Public Safety met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Miller, Sid, at 11:58 a.m.

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Miller, Sid; Beck; Burnam; Flynn; Mallory Caraway; and Pena.

A quorum was present.

SB 9

The chair laid out SB 9 as pending business.

Representative Flynn offered a complete committee substitute.

(Representative Fletcher now present.)

(Representative Walle now present.)

The chair explained the measure.

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

Representative Flynn moved that SB 9, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

Ayes: Representatives Miller, Sid; Fletcher; Beck; Flynn; Pena (5).

Nays: Representatives Burnam; Mallory Caraway; Walle (3).

Present, Not Voting: None (0).

Absent: Representative Driver (1).

At 12:06 p.m., on the motion of chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
