Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on April 4, 2011, and after being granted permission to meet while the house was in session, the House Committee on Culture, Recreation & Tourism met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Guillen, at 3:10 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Guillen; Elkins; King, Tracy O.; Kuempel; Larson; and Price.

 

A quorum was present.


 

HB 2091

 

The chair laid out HB 2091 as pending business.

 

Representative Kuempel moved that HB 2091, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Guillen; Elkins; King, Tracy O.; Kuempel; Larson; Price (6).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Deshotel; Dukes; Smith, Todd (3).

The chair laid out HB 1025 as pending business.

 

Representative Kuempel offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Price moved that HB 1025, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
