Pursuant to a notice posted on December 4, 2012, the House Committee on Response to Federal Sequestration, Interim met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Harper-Brown, at 9:05 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Harper-Brown; Villarreal; Burkett; Dukes; Flynn; Gonzalez, Naomi; and Perry.

 

A quorum was present.

 

 

The Chair made opening comments.

 

The chair laid out Interim Charge to discuss and examine ways that the state can prepare for looming federal tax increases and spending reductions caused by Federal Sequestration.
