Pursuant to a notice posted on June 3, 2011, and, being granted permission on June 6, 2011 to meet while the House is in session, the House Committee on State Sovereignty, Select met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Creighton, at 1:45 p.m.

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Creighton; Branch; Darby; Miller, Sid; and Pitts.

A quorum was present.

The chair laid out HB 5.

The chair recognized Representative Kolkhorst to explain HB 5.

The chair recognized Representative Kolkhorst to close on HB 5.

Representative Darby moved that HB 5, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

Ayes: Representatives Creighton; Branch; Darby; Miller, Sid; Pitts (5).

Nays: None (0).

Present, Not Voting: None (0).

Absent: Representatives Martinez Fischer; Thompson (2).

At 2:14 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
