Pursuant to suspension of Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Administration was held on Friday, May 6, 2011, in the E1.714.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:05 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

The chair laid out the list of bills recommended for placement on the Local and Uncontested Calendar to be held on May 10, 2011, at 8:00 AM.  The committee did not recommend the removal of any bills.

 

Senator Uresti moved that the list of bills recommended for placement on the Local and Uncontested Calendar to be held on May 10, 2011, at 8:00 AM be certified.  The motion carried with a vote of 5 ayes, 0 nays, 2 absent, and 0 present not voting.

 

The chair laid out SJR 31 and recognized the author, Senator Wentworth, to explain the bill.

 

Public testimony was opened;  no witnesses testified or registered on the bill.

 

The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Eltife moved that SJR 31 be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

The chair laid out SJR 48 and recognized Senator Shapiro, in the absence of the author, to explain the bill.

 

Public testimony was opened;  no witnesses testified or registered on the bill

 

The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Eltife moved that SJR 48 be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

The chair laid out SJR 47 and recognized the author, Senator Williams, to explain the bill.

 

Public testimony was opened;  no witnesses testified or registered on the bill

 

The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Eltife moved that SJR 47 be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

There being no further business, at 9:13 AM Senator Eltife moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
