Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Administration was held on Friday, May 13, 2011, in the Betty King Committee Room at Austin, Texas.

At 8:55 AM  Senator Shapiro assumed the chair.  The chair called the meeting to order and the following business was transacted:

 

The chair laid out HCR 63 and recognized Senator Duncan, in the absence of the Senate sponsor, to explain the resolution.

 

The chair laid out HCR 90 and recognized Senator Duncan, in the absence of the Senate sponsor, to explain the resolution.

 

The chair laid out HCR 133 and recognized Senator Duncan, in the absence of the Senate sponsor, to explain the resolution.

 

The chair laid out HB 114 and recognized Senator Duncan, in the absence of the Senate sponsor, to explain the bill.

 

The chair laid out HB 1070 and recognized Senator Duncan, in the absence of the Senate sponsor, to explain the bill.

 

The chair laid out HB 2091 and recognized Senator Duncan, in the absence of the Senate sponsor, to explain the bill.

The chair opened public testimony on HCR 63.  No witnesses testified or registered on the resolution.  The chair moved that public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

Senator Shapiro moved that all bills be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered. 

 

There being no further business, at 9:26 AM Senator Shapiro moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.

Pursuant to the suspension of Senate Rules 11.10 and 11.18, Senator Eltife reconvened the Senate Committee on Administration at 1:38 PM at his desk in the Senate chamber.

The chair laid out the list of bills recommended for placement on the Local and Uncontested Calendar to be held on May 17th, 2011, at 8:00 AM.  The committee did not recommend the removal of any bills.

The chair moved that the list of bills recommended for placement on the Local and Uncontested Calendar to be held on May 17, 2011, at 8:00 AM be certified.  The motion carried with a vote of 5 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 2 absent.

There being no further business, at 1:42 PM Senator Eltife moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
