Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Finance was held on Tuesday, February 8, 2011, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.036, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:01 AM. A quorum was present.

The following business was transacted:

The chair laid out SB 1 as pending business.

Senator Hinojosa assumed the chair.

Testimony was heard on SB 1 - Article III. Witnesses testifying and registering are shown on the attached list.

Higher Education Coordinating Board

At 10:16 AM Senator Hinojosa moved that the Committee stand recessed until 45 minutes after the State of the State Address. Without objection, it was so ordered.

At 12:54 PM Senator Ogden reconvened the hearing.

Senator Hinojosa assumed the chair.

Testimony continued on SB 1 – Article III.

Baylor College of Medicine

Senator Ogden resumed the chair.

Community Colleges

Senator Ogden resumed the chair.

Senator Hinojosa assumed the chair.

Senator Hinojosa moved that SB 1 be left pending. Without objection, it was so ordered.

There being no further business, at 5:17 PM Senator Hinojosa moved that the Committee stand recessed until 9:00 AM, February 9, 2011. Without objection, it was so ordered.
