Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Government Organization was held on Monday, April 23, 2012, in the Betty King Committee Room at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 1:05 PM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

The chair made opening remarks regarding the committee interim charges.

Senator Ellis introduced the Senate Committee on Government Organization staff for the 82^nd Legislative Interim and invited committee members to make opening remarks and introduce their respective staff.

The chair announced that the committee would operate under the same rules adopted during the 82(R) session.

Senator Ellis made opening remarks regarding committee charge three. 

Senator Ellis called panel one to provide invited testimony (see attached witness list).

Senator Ellis made opening remarks regarding committee charge four.

Senator Ellis called panel one to provide invited testimony (See attached witness list).

The chair opened the floor for public testimony.

Witnesses registering on the committee charges are shown on the attached list.

The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

There being no further business, at 1:50 PM Senator Ellis moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
