Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Transportation & Homeland Security was held on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.016, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 8:00 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

The following members arrived after the roll was called:

The chair called the following individuals to provide invited testimony on homeland security and border issues (see attached witness list).

At 9:50 AM Senator Williams moved that the Committee stand recessed until 30 minutes after adjournment of the Senate. Without objection, it was so ordered.

At 3:25 PM Senator Watson reconvened the meeting.

Senator Williams resumed the chair.

There being no further business, at 5:17 PM Senator Williams moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
