A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to appropriating money to the Texas A&M Forest Service to |
|
|
be used to assist volunteer fire departments during the current |
|
|
state fiscal biennium. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. In addition to amounts previously appropriated |
|
|
for the state fiscal biennium ending August 31, 2013, the amount of |
|
|
$33,000,000 is appropriated out of general revenue account number |
|
|
5064, Volunteer Fire Department Assistance, to the Texas A&M Forest |
|
|
Service for the fiscal year ending August 31, 2013, for the purpose |
|
|
of assisting volunteer firefighters in paying for equipment, |
|
|
personnel training, and administration, and for the purpose of |
|
|
staffing and operating costs associated with the Statewide Wildfire |
|
|
Protection Plan. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act has no effect. |
