R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Richard Bothe of Port Lavaca received the 50-Year
  Banker Award from the Texas Bankers Association on May 3, 2013, in
  recognition of his long-standing service to the industry; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Bothe was pursuing a degree in economics at St.
  Mary's University in San Antonio when he took his first job in
  banking half a century ago; on graduating, he relocated to Dallas
  and spent four years at the regional office for the Comptroller of
  the Currency before returning to San Antonio and to the banking
  business at Brooks Field National Bank; while in his 30s, he was
  tapped to serve as president and CEO of Main Bank and Trust and went
  on to hold other executive-level posts at financial institutions in
  San Antonio and Corpus Christi; and
         WHEREAS, In 1994, Mr. Bothe began his association with IBC
  Bank, first at a San Antonio branch and then at one in Port Lavaca,
  where he accepted the positions of president and CEO; along the way,
  his dedication and commitment earned him the appreciation of his
  customers and the widespread respect and admiration of his
  colleagues; and
         WHEREAS, Although retired from IBC since December 2012, this
  esteemed industry veteran continues to share his expertise as chair
  of the bank's regional board of directors; generous with his time,
  he formerly served on the board of the Victoria Symphony and has
  been a longtime congregant and member of the financial committee at
  Trinity Episcopal Church; and
         WHEREAS, For more than 25 years, Mr. Bothe has benefited from
  the love and support of his wife, Lorene, and his blended family of
  three sons and a daughter; with his retirement, he looks forward to
  spending more time with his loved ones as well as to building a new
  career in commercial real estate and becoming more involved with
  area civic groups; and
         WHEREAS, Richard Bothe has distinguished himself through his
  outstanding contributions to the banking profession, and this award
  is indeed a fitting testament to a truly stellar career; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Richard Bothe
  on his receipt of the Texas Bankers Association's 50-Year Banker
  Award and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success
  and happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Bothe as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
