R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Unique, locally owned businesses add to the richness |
|
and prosperity of Texas communities, and on July 8, 2013, one such |
|
enterprise, La Casa del Puro cigar lounge, is celebrating its |
|
second anniversary in El Paso; and |
|
WHEREAS, Founded by Pastor Crespo, Jr., in 2011, La Casa del |
|
Puro features a humidor stocked with fine cigars from around the |
|
world; its elegant wood-and-leather decor and its many amenities, |
|
such as a professional game room, several televisions, a library, |
|
and a bar, provide cigar aficionados with a comfortable and |
|
collegial environment in which to enjoy their pastime; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Crespo served his nation in the U.S. Army's |
|
warrant officer corps for 20 years, and for 11 of those years he |
|
worked abroad at a succession of U.S. embassies as a member of the |
|
Defense Attache System; after retiring from the military, this |
|
accomplished gentleman settled in El Paso with his family; and |
|
WHEREAS, Situated in the heart of the city's museum district, |
|
La Casa del Puro contributes greatly to the economic revival and |
|
cultural diversity of El Paso's downtown and serves as a testament |
|
to Mr. Crespo's creativity and entrepreneurial spirit; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Pastor |
|
Crespo, Jr., on the success of La Casa del Puro and extend to him and |
|
his staff sincere best wishes for continued good fortune; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for La Casa del Puro as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
