R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Helen Z. Alfaro is graduating as salutatorian of the |
|
|
senior class of West Mesquite High School in 2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only |
|
|
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|
|
highest academic standards; the student who garners this coveted |
|
|
distinction must demonstrate a thorough understanding of a wide |
|
|
range of subjects, from math and science to language arts and social |
|
|
studies, yet the rewards of the countless hours of study and |
|
|
preparation are myriad; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of proud parents Josefa and Sotero |
|
|
Alfaro, Ms. Alfaro plans to continue her education at Texas A&M |
|
|
University--Commerce in interdisciplinary studies; she ultimately |
|
|
hopes to teach elementary school and to build a school in another |
|
|
country; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Helen Z. Alfaro has |
|
|
earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and classmates at |
|
|
West Mesquite High School, and her exceptional scholastic ability, |
|
|
hard work, and commitment to excellence have opened the way to |
|
|
limitless opportunities for this outstanding young Texan; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Helen Z. |
|
|
Alfaro, salutatorian of the West Mesquite High School Class of |
|
|
2013, and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success as |
|
|
she begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Alfaro as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
