R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Joshua Jacob Makkappallil is graduating as
  salutatorian of the senior class of Mesquite High School in 2013;
  and
         WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only
  intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the
  highest academic standards; the student who garners this coveted
  distinction must demonstrate a thorough understanding of a wide
  range of subjects, from math and science to language arts and social
  studies, yet the rewards of the countless hours of study and
  preparation are myriad; and
         WHEREAS, The son of proud parents Jacob and Mini
  Makkappallil, Mr. Makkappallil plans to continue his education at
  The University of Texas at Dallas, studying biology on a full
  scholarship; he hopes to become a published author; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout his academic career, Joshua Jacob
  Makkappallil has earned the respect and admiration of his teachers
  and classmates at Mesquite High School, and his exceptional
  scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to excellence have
  opened the way to limitless opportunities for this outstanding
  young Texan; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Joshua Jacob
  Makkappallil, salutatorian of the Mesquite High School Class of
  2013, and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success as
  he begins the next exciting chapter of his life; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Makkappallil as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
