R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A radiant life drew to a close much too soon with the |
|
passing of Karen Rene Baker of College Station on September 13, |
|
2012, at the age of 54; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born on December 8, 1957, and raised in Corpus |
|
Christi, Karen Baker earned degrees in civil engineering and |
|
microbiology from Texas A&M University in College Station; shortly |
|
after her graduation in 1983, she embarked on a notable career with |
|
the Texas Department of Transportation, where, after a decade and a |
|
half, she was elevated to the post of area engineer for Montgomery |
|
County; she retired in 2010, having devoted more than 25 years to |
|
the agency and to addressing the transportation needs of local |
|
Texans; and |
|
WHEREAS, The devoted wife of Glenn Baker and the proud mother |
|
of Matthew and Justin, Karen Baker took immense joy in her family |
|
and in the time they spent together; and |
|
WHEREAS, This treasured woman brought to all her endeavors an |
|
inexhaustible determination and generosity of spirit, and those who |
|
were blessed to share in her love and affection will forever hold |
|
her close in their heart; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory |
|
of Karen Rene Baker and extend sincere sympathy to all those who |
|
mourn her passing; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Karen Rene |
|
Baker. |
