R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Sarah Kay Brent of South Georgia Elementary School |
|
received well-deserved recognition when she was named the 2013 |
|
Elementary Teacher of the Year by the Amarillo Independent School |
|
District; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Brent was inspired to pursue a career in |
|
education by her previous work at an after-school program, and she |
|
went on to earn her bachelor's degree from West Texas A&M |
|
University; highly admired for her expertise, she has been a |
|
special education inclusion instructor at South Georgia Elementary |
|
for the past seven years; and |
|
WHEREAS, Selected for the elementary teaching award from a |
|
field of 54 campus teachers of the year, Ms. Brent clearly excels in |
|
her chosen field of endeavor, and her achievements are made all the |
|
more rewarding by the gains her students realize as a result of her |
|
encouragement and instruction; and |
|
WHEREAS, Helping young people to realize their potential is a |
|
vital responsibility, and Sarah Brent may indeed reflect with pride |
|
on the important contributions she has made to that essential |
|
undertaking; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Sarah Kay |
|
Brent on her selection as the 2013 Elementary Teacher of the Year by |
|
the Amarillo Independent School District and extend to her sincere |
|
best wishes for continued success with her important work; and, be |
|
it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Brent as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
