R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Al Guardino of Tascosa High School received |
|
well-deserved recognition when he was named the 2013 Secondary |
|
Teacher of the Year by the Amarillo Independent School District; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, A veteran of the United States armed forces, |
|
Mr. Guardino served in the military for 23 years; wishing to |
|
continue to make an impact, he then became a teacher, and he has |
|
spent the past decade and a half in the classroom; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Guardino teaches geometry at Tascosa High |
|
School, where he enjoys having an opportunity to help shape the |
|
future through his work with the youth in his class; "Teaching is |
|
the most fantastic way to do it," as Mr. Guardino himself has said; |
|
"You can impact the future, because children are our future; I tell |
|
my students that every day, and I'm part of their journey"; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through his creativity, energy, and |
|
resourcefulness, Al Guardino has inspired in his students a love of |
|
learning that will serve them well throughout their lives; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Al Guardino on |
|
his selection as the 2013 Secondary Teacher of the Year by the |
|
Amarillo Independent School District and extend to him sincere best |
|
wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Guardino as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
