R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Al Guardino of Tascosa High School received
  well-deserved recognition when he was named the 2013 Secondary
  Teacher of the Year by the Amarillo Independent School District;
  and
         WHEREAS, A veteran of the United States armed forces,
  Mr. Guardino served in the military for 23 years; wishing to
  continue to make an impact, he then became a teacher, and he has
  spent the past decade and a half in the classroom; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Guardino teaches geometry at Tascosa High
  School, where he enjoys having an opportunity to help shape the
  future through his work with the youth in his class; "Teaching is
  the most fantastic way to do it," as Mr. Guardino himself has said;
  "You can impact the future, because children are our future; I tell
  my students that every day, and I'm part of their journey"; and
         WHEREAS, Through his creativity, energy, and
  resourcefulness, Al Guardino has inspired in his students a love of
  learning that will serve them well throughout their lives; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Al Guardino on
  his selection as the 2013 Secondary Teacher of the Year by the
  Amarillo Independent School District and extend to him sincere best
  wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Guardino as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
