R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Erica Newman graduated as the salutatorian of the |
|
senior class of Sanford-Fritch High School in Fritch on May 31, |
|
2013; and |
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only |
|
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|
highest academic standards; to attain this coveted distinction, |
|
Ms. Newman demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of |
|
subjects, and the rewards of the countless hours she has devoted to |
|
her studies are myriad; and |
|
WHEREAS, In addition to her success in the classroom, |
|
Ms. Newman has distinguished herself as a member of the National |
|
Honor Society and the National Society of High School Scholars; a |
|
versatile athlete, she has played volleyball, basketball, and |
|
softball, and she has advanced to regional competition in both |
|
cross-country and golf; she has also served as vice president of the |
|
Business Professionals of America and advanced to state Workplace |
|
Skills Assessment Program events in medical office procedures and |
|
fundamental word processing; having earned numerous awards and |
|
scholarships, Ms. Newman plans to attend Oklahoma Panhandle State |
|
University and pursue a double major in chemistry and biology; and |
|
WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Erica Newman has |
|
earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and classmates at |
|
Sanford-Fritch High, and her exceptional scholastic ability, hard |
|
work, and commitment to excellence have opened the way to limitless |
|
opportunities for this remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be |
|
it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Erica Newman, |
|
salutatorian of the Sanford-Fritch High School Class of 2013, and |
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success as she |
|
begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Newman as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
